Monday 24th to Saturday 29th October - 2011 Norwich Beer Festival


The 34th Norwich Beer Festival, organised by the Norwich & Norfolk Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), will be held at St. Andrew's and Blackfriars' Halls from October 24th to 29th 2011.

Over 200 cask-conditioned Real Ales from Britain's independent brewers will be on sale, along with draught and bottled beers from Continental Europe.

There will also be a large range of traditional ciders and perries, with over 25 varieties from East Anglia, the West Country and elsewhere.

Playing the music of the great Swing Bands including Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Harry James, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw and others, the program of music includes some of the original Squadronaires music arrangements which have been transcribed by orchestrator Greg Francis, and which have not been played since 1964.

THE NATIONAL CONCERT ORCHESTRA OF GREAT BRITAIN, conducted by Greg Francis and featuring THE STRAUSS WALTZERS perform an evening of THE VIENNA PROMS.

A full evening concert concert program recreating the wonderful summer night concerts given in Vienna. The concert opens with the ever popular Die Fledermaus and throughout features a host of Strauss Waltzes and Polkas including The Blue Danube, Vienna Blood, The Merry Widow and Tritsh-Tratsh Polka. The full program is not to be missed and features Strauss and other great composers of the Romantic Period. The concert closes in traditional manner with the rousing Radetzky March.

Peter Alliss was described by Golf Digest as ‘the greatest golf commentator ever’! He is much more modest claiming that he’s a golf commentator only because he is ‘an old player, a lover of the game and a good weaver of stories’.

Peter has been broadcasting continuously for the BBC since 1961and on Friday 2nd December the ‘weaver of stories’ will be at St Andrews Hall with his extraordinary presentation which will include anecdotes, stories, reminiscences and a question and answer section.
