The Pops Orchestra are proud to present a rousing and exhilarating concert for the Lord Mayor's 2009 Celebrations.

Sponsored by Norwich City Council, this stirring performance will be a traditional Last Night of the Proms concert featuring all of the pieces heard annually at the Royal Albert Hall.

Help us recreate the wonderful atmosphere of the 'Last Night' with your spirited and vocal participation. Be warned though... flag waving and loud singing will be required!

The band exists to provide opportunities for young people to play brass band music to the highest standards, and is aimed not only at helping their playing, but also improving their musicianship and widening their musical horizons. Regularly recording for BBC Radio 2 and Radio 3 this excellent band feeds many members into the premier adult brass bands in this country, such as Black Dyke, Brighouse & Rastrick, Fodens, Grimethorpe Colliery Williams Fairey and Yorkshire Building Society. The list reads like a "who's who" of the brass band world and is rapidly growing.

Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th August – Body Art Festival


The city of Norwich has become a cultural and musical focal point for people throughout Norfolk and surrounding areas over the years. The City is seeing a growing population of budding tattoo and body modification enthusiasts.

Held at St Andrew's Hall, Norwich on the 15th and 16th August, the festival aims to show people that the best artists may hold a tattoo gun instead of a paintbrush and the best canvases may be your own skin.

Two days of tattooists doing what they do best! In addition to this there will be trade stands showcasing everything from fashion to art, some very interesting stage and street performers, an awards ceremony, a tattoo art auction and even a graffiti jam!
